Thanks Pam! I am glad you are enjoying them. It's so beautiful here and we're getting settled in slowly. The sun is always calling my name.
Those turtles on Laniakea Beach are so amazing. I try to go out there as often as I can. I could sit with them all day just waiting for them to lift their head or start to crawl back to the ocean. Amazing ancient creatures.

Thanks for the visiting my site and I have been back to Laniakea Beach a few times. Last time was last Thursday. Saw L2 on the beach and am writing a post with pics about him. I love the turtles and I love that you are all out there volunteering to educate and promote responsible "visiting" with the honu. I hope to be able to train and become a guardian myself once I get settled. Keep up the great work! I hope to see you out there on one of my visits. Mahalo!

I so enjoyed reading your entry about the honu at Laniakea. I am one of the honu guardians and I have been honored to be up there for a year watching these amazing animals come ashore. I read many blog entries and see many pictures, but it is rare that visitors put their "given" names up with the photos. I enjoyed that as well. Genbu is a favorite of mine. I hope you make it back to take more photos.

Thanks for the positve feedback. Sorry about the email - I told Papamoka that there were actually two moose and here's the link to see them.

I spent about 6-7 hours that day following them and hanging out shooting them, with my camera of course. No moose were harmed and eventually the game and wildlife people shooed them back into the forest, which was fairly close by. I had one of my BEST days in Alaska!

Was the moose in your yard? That a beautiful picture. We had one here in Worcester recently and they put it down. I think they could have tranqued it and just moved it out to the Berkshires but this is a heavily populated area.

Where was this picture taken? We take a quadding trip to the middle of nowhere every year with the hopes of one day reaching the far off glacier. It looks really similar to this one!
